Learn more about credit cards and related services

While you spend money from the funds available on your bank account in the case of debit cards, in the case of credit cards we provide you with a personalised credit line that you can use with your credit card. You can freely decide when to repay the credit line used depending on your momentary financial position as described below. After the repayments, your credit line becomes available again and again.
You can monitor your credit card spending electronically in UniCredit’s eBanking system, via the UniCredit Mobile Application and in the monthly postal statements. Click HERE for details about the credit card transaction statement.

What you need to know about repayment

  • If you have used your credit card only for purchase transactions, your card use may be fully interest free. The only thing you need to do is to fully repay the credit line used after the closing date, but no later than the last day of the grace period. The credit line used includes your total debt during the period: all credit card transactions executed and settled, as well as any related fees and interests.

  • If you are unable to repay the debt in full, you need to pay at least the minimum amount in order to avoid late payment. This amount is 5 percent of the full debt on the closing date of the settlement period but at least HUF 5,000. If the total amount of your spending is less than HUF 5,000, you need to repay the full amount used. The amount must be credited to your account after the closing date but no later than the last day of the grace period.

  • If you do not repay the full amount in the given month, interest will be charged on your outstanding debt and on your debt outstanding prior to the repayment (calculated from the booking date of the transactions) until they are repaid in full.

How can you repay your credit line?

  • by way of an automatic collection order from your account held with UniCredit Bank,

  • by way of a book transfer from an account held with UniCredit Bank,

  • by way of a credit transfer from an account held with another bank,

  • by way of cash payment through a UniCredit ATM,

  • by way of a cash deposit at the cash desk of any UniCredit Bank branch.

Cash-back amount:

  • Up to HUF 2,500 per settlement period in the case of Orange and Blue credit cards.

  • Up to HUF 4,000 per settlement period in the case of Gold or Platinum credit cards.

    How does the cash-back offer work?

  • after a minimum of 3 purchase transactions amounting to a total of at least HUF 20,000 in the given settlement period;

  • based on the booked transaction amount, you will get HUF 1 back after each HUF 100 purchase transaction;

  • if the purchase transaction is made on the cardholder’s birthday, the cash-back will amount to HUF 3 after each HUF 100 spent.

    Remember:

    Betting and gambling-related transactions executed by way of card data provided via merchants’ POS terminals, online interfaces or over the phone, cash withdrawal transactions, other transactions related to credit transfers and financial services and fee and interest charges debited by the Bank to the credit card account do not qualify as purchase transactions.

    Another condition of the cash-back program is that no late payment or overdue debt may be recorded on the relevant credit card account on the closing date.

    In calculating the amount of the cash-back, the Bank takes the booked HUF amount of the purchase transaction into account.

    Credit transactions booked by the Bank on the credit card account originating from cash desk deposits, ATM deposits or credit transfers (e.g. subsequent crediting of incorrectly booked items) reduce the total amount and number of transactions taken into account in the calculation of the cash-back amount with respect to the transaction booked for the relevant cycle.

    Crediting the cash-back amount

    The cash-back amount calculated based on the purchase transactions booked in the relevant settlement period is credited by the Bank to the Primary Cardholder’s credit card account as a lump sum on the closing date.

    This information is not all-inclusive. Detailed information on the cash-back is available in the document entitled List of Conditions – for Credit Card Holder Private Clients.
