Developing financial culture

As a leading company in the financial sector, we strive to develop general financial culture and to shape the financial knowledge and mindset of the younger generations; we consider the financial education of young people as an investment.

MoneyWeek

In addition to our own education programme, our volunteers have been involved in Hungary's largest financial education programme, MoneyWeek (Pénz7), since its launch in 2015. During the thematic week, our colleagues support the work of primary and secondary school teachers with real-life examples.

Vlogopoly

In the summer of 2019, our financial education curriculum for young people, „Gazdálkodj vlogosan!” (Vlogopoly), developed by our volunteer colleagues in collaboration with Bridge Bizniscool, made its debut. The aim of the course is to give children (9–13 years old) an insight into the life of an enterprise through the example of a vlogger as entrepreneur. The curriculum uses a novel approach and situational exercises to explain to children what savings and credit are, and what to look out for when startingbusiness. The curriculum has been developed into a 6-week mid-year course from autumn 2019.

Fintelligence Financial Training Centre

In the spring of 2019, the first financial lab of the Fintelligence Financial Training Centre was established with the support of our bank at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the Budapest University of Economics and Business, providing an ideal state-of-the-art infrastructure for university-level courses, conferences and lectures on the subject.

Our course, entitled B@nkolás, ami számít – egy bank működése a gyakorlatban (B@nking that matters – the day-to-day operaton of a bank), was the result of a joint effort between our bank and the University's Faculty of Finance and Accounting. The series of lectures will give students a practical insight into the bank's operations and the work of its various departments, with the help of senior managers from our bank. The successful cooperation between the university and our bank will continue with new topics in the coming semesters, as the Fintelligence Training Centre has proven to be an excellent platform for targeted financial education.

Helping future generations

The international UniCredit Foundation and Europe's largest educational organization, Junior Achievement Europe, created the Re-Power Your Future programme to equip future generations with the financial knowledge and entrepreneurial skills necessary for the challenges of the century. The three-year, comprehensive education program implemented in 10 countries, including Hungary, focuses on preventing early school leaving, acquiring the skills necessary for a successful career choice, and encouraging higher education studies. Junior Achievement Hungary, which implements the programs at the domestic level, closely cooperates with teachers, social and educational specialists, professional and sectoral organizations and UniCredit Bank employees are also involved in the implementation as volunteer professional mentors.
