Diversity and inclusion

UniCredit is proud of its decade-long commitment to empower its highly diverse staff by creating an equal opportunities workplace where people of all ages, genders and cultural backgrounds can contribute to decision making. We create an inclusive culture where all voices are heard in respect to performance and job satisfaction.

Diversity & Inclusion week

In 2019 UniCredit launched its first Diversity and Inclusion Week, because we firmly believe that diversity is key to innovation and growth. Different points of view bring fresh perspectives, original approaches and new solutions. So that diversity can work, a working environment where all differences are respected is essential. For one whole week, UniCredit employees explore the topic, organized talks and workshops.

Women's career path

Our bank is committed to building an organisation that maximises the development of talent and individual skills, while providing equal career opportunities for all. This is why we have developed our programmes to support female employees and managers. We are proud of the 62% female representation on our extended management team.

Mommies back maternity programme

We make it easier for moms to return from maternity leave: women who apply can work 100% from home until their youngest child turns 3 years old. Mothers can gradually return to traditional working hours and even find jobs in areas other than the ones they had before, which can also offer them a career change after a few years off.

Work-life balance

Flexibility helps us make the most of our working time, which is why we support flexible working, working from home, and part-time working. Flexibility also means making time for a good work-life balance. Paid leave includes maternity, paternity, and childcare leave. We also give our colleagues the opportunity to take care of important life events, like administration around buying a home, or taking advantage of educational opportunities.

Generation Knowledge Management Programme

Our initiative targets employees over 55 who would like to share their knowledge with younger colleagues still in the early stages of their careers. The mentor-mentee pairs work together for several months and focus on topics related to life skills, career paths, personal branding, and professional topics.

Talent Programme

Each year we launch a local talent programme for colleagues that we expect outstanding performance from in the long term. During the programme, they can discuss behavioural and workplace skills with a psychology expert, attend workshops on value-based career, motivation and objectives, and have a one-to-one career discussion with our HR experts.

Career Start Programme

We consider it important to help graduates who are just starting their careers. With this in mind, we have launched our Career Start Programme, which gives young people the opportunity to learn more about several areas with the help of a mentor. Our aim is to introduce students interested in the world of banking to areas of banking and to give them practical experience.
