EXIM guarantee

 

Under the Export Promoting Credit Program, EXIM grants loan guarantees to the loans refinanced by it - on the basis of the Framework Agreement concluded with UniCredit Bank - , thus supporting access to loans for domestic medium and large enterprises.

Exim grants a loan guarantee that is 100% counter-guaranteed by the state to exporters of goods and services and their suppliers, which comply with the terms of any lending scheme refinanced by EXIM. The issuance of the guarantee is not automatic; EXIM reserves the right to assess every transaction individually.

 

Why is the guarantee granted by EXIM advantageous?

• Your company may receive a loan refinanced by EXIM subject to lower collateral;
  
• It can be requested for any loan construction refinanced by EXIM;
  
• It can be requested for up to 80% of the principal amount of the loan transaction financed;
  
• The de minimis state aid restrictions are not applicable;
  
• The guarantee can be issued in HUF, EUR or USD, according to the currency denomination of the loan;
  
• The fee for the guarantee is favourable, to be set individually on the basis of the collateralisation of the loan and the rating of the borrower.

 

Who is the EXIM guarantee recommended for?

For domestic medium and large enterprises

• that comply with the rules for the product range refinanced by EXIM;
  
• that have been existing and validly operating entities under Hungarian law for at least one year, are resident in Hungary and their official address is in the territory of Hungary;
  
• that are not under bankruptcy, liquidation or dissolution proceedings and no such proceedings have been initiated against them;
  
• that have no past due tax debt or public debts that can be recovered as tax or past due debts from a loan, guarantee or a leasing agreement;
  
• the financing purpose of their export transaction is not subject to a ban under Hungarian law, nor under international treaties or is not violating any environmental law;
  
• the expected extent of Hungarian origin can be certified for their loan transaction;
  
• whose rating meets the expectations of EXIM.

 

Features of the EXIM guarantee

• Loan types the guarantee can be issued for: Loan products refinanced by EXIM.
  
• The level of guarantee granted by EXIM is 50 to 60% of the loan’s principal amount, in exceptional cases up to 80%.
  
• The EXIM’s guarantee is 100% underpinned by the State’s counter-guarantee but is outside of the scope of de minimis state aid rules.
  
• In addition to the EXIM loan guarantee, other collateral is also expected for the transaction in question.
  
• EXIM will enter into contract for issuing the guarantee directly with the enterprise.

 

Documents required for the guarantee application

• Documents required for the loan assessment as specified by the bank.
  
• Documents requested by EXIM and the conclusion of the associated guarantee issuance agreement.
