Google, Microsoft, Mercedes, the BBC, Bosch and Sony are just some of the world renowned brands which have become Superbrands in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile in Hungary, this year it was the second time that UniCredit Bank has received the widely respected Superbrands award. The decision was taken by an independent jury of well-known experts, who choose the top brands every year, on the basis of standardised, international criteria. In addition to the award for being a top consumer brand, the Hungarian UniCredit Bank also won the Business Superbrands award this year, which recognises the best of business-to-business brands. Furthermore, other banks of the Group like the German HypoVereinsbank and the Croatian Zagrebačka Banka also won the “Superbrands” award in their countries.
"These prestigious awards are important to us, because they both provide confirmation of our efforts to be a market leader in terms of customer satisfaction in a highly visible way,” said Dr. Mihály Patai, CEO of the Hungarian UniCredit Bank. “The fundamental requirements for these awards in the everyday reality is that the particular brand offers the customer tangible advantages, reliably, over the long term. I am especially happy about this success, which is a message to our retail, business and institutional customers at the same time, saying that our success is built on their satisfaction... so it's their success too.”
Superbrands was originally launched in the United Kingdom in 1995 and is now run in no less than 82 countries worldwide. The objective is to bring selected, high quality brands to the attention of a public as broad as possible, in order to help the consumer to make brand-conscious decisions. Alongside the Superbrands programme, which has been running in Hungary for five years, the Business Superbrands programme was launched in 2008 for the first time – an award which has been playing a defining role in other countries for several years. Top business experts pick out the best brands in the world of business, from among some 3,000 companies. Business Superbrands represent quality, reliability and outstanding performance.
Both professional awards harmonize with our effort to be the market leader bank in terms of customer satisfaction, and confirm our sense of commitment to the customers.
